In writing about redesigning the TechCrunch footer I came across many great examples of creative and useful footer design.
So I thought it was about time I created my own showcase of web site footer designs.

Footer design showcase examples (click to view all)
Some are simple and elegant; many are information-rich. But all combine typography, color, layout and imagery to reinforce the brand of the site, engage visitors and drive traffic to other pages. Enjoy!

Hi there. Good stuff! After your last post, and Smashing's footer post I got to thinking about footers and how I always do really boring ones. Then I started http://www.beatingrsi.com and put a lit bit more effort into the footer. It's nothing astoundingly different but a lot better, as I rarely give them much consideration at all.
Cheers!
J.

I like web site footers that are creative in their presentation. Why not incorporate the same design thought processes that we use for the rest of the site when thinking about the footer? They're a very important part of a web site so should be given more thought than currently most people (it would seem) do.

Footers are like shoes to me. Personally, I like fancy shoes, that stand out. I apply this technique to web and print design. See my footer here: http://www.rowdygroup.com/
