I'm not a huge fan of web awards programs, largely because you typically have to pay to be considered and so the pool of contenders is somewhat self-selected.
That being said, the IMA is a fairly well established awards program that attracts some good entries. They recently put out their list of the top 10 websites of 2009, along with a bunch of nominees.
Here's the list of winners:
It's something of a mixed bag, but worth checking out.
Personally, I'm a big fan of the EA website, which combines visual design, information architecture and functionality/interactivity to great effect.

I usually cringe at these web awards due to the fact that it's non designers making judgements on things they don't understand. They're usually 'industry bodies' - marketers, PR people and so on...
Are they judgeing asthetic design? Architechture? Content? Marketing? Usability?
I only take notice of 'web awards' that are from industry peers!

I'm not a big fan of awards either, but some of these 10 websites presented are quite awesome. :)

Though we would all like to be able to do our own website designing, we all aren't able to, whether we just don't understand the many various elements or we just don't have the time; the use of a top website design company is a must have. Just any website design company will not do; there are various things that can make a web design company a best web design company that will provide the exact services you need to the exact specifications you provide and request.

In my opinion, most of these awards are just based on the publisher's own opinions and not the people's. Web Hosting and Video Design

I dont think that they were some of the best website that i have seen for 2010, it just shows that you have to pay to get into these awards.
The best one for me was the EA website.

As a Web Designer myself i find awards and sites like these are something to aim for and give someone young like myself the drive to reach that level one day.
